The Purpose of Christ First & Second Advent
Christ is eternal. He has no beginning and no end. He is part of the Godhead (Elohim). John 1:1-3. He is immutable. Hebrews 13:8. He incarnated in the flesh. Phil 2:5-11. He was the begotten son of God. John 3:16. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit. Matt 1:20. He is the called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father & The Prince of Peace. Isa. 9:6. He speaks of himself as equal to the Great I Am. John 8:58. “ego eimi”.

THE CONGREGATION'S TREASURY
Concerning these words, “lay” and “store” – W.E. Vine in Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words says, regarding both words – that they refer to a common treasury. Concerning this instruction, Albert Barnes says of the phrase – “lay by in store” in 1 Corinthians 16:2 – “They were to lay it by, and put into the common treasury, that there might be no trouble collecting when he should come. Alternatively, it may, perhaps, mean that they were individually to treasure it up, having designated in their own mind the sum that they could give, and have in readiness when he should come.[more]
